From January 2021, the Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors has adopted changes to the requirements for professional surveyor licensure. The changes include allowing applicants to use part-time experience, allowing up to two years of overlapping engineering and surveying experience and changes to the degree requirements to take the NCEES surveying exams.

The Professional Surveying exam will test your knowledge of surveying and the laws and practices applicable to the State of Ohio. Obtaining licensure in Ohio as a Professional Engineer is a 3-step process

  1. Successfully passing the Fundamentals of Surveying exam and obtaining certification in Ohio as a Surveyor Intern
  2. Successfully passing the Professional Surveying exam
  3. Successfully passing the Ohio 2-hour state specific exam and then obtaining licensure
